A trio of Howe Sound Sounders football players could be suiting up for Team B.C. in Manitoba this summer and Texas in 2014.
Scott Messier, Cam Dare and James Harney will attend the Team B.C. tryout camp in Richmond from May 18 to 20 to determine the roster for then upcoming provincial U16 and U18 teams.
Messier will be trying to gain a spot on the U16 team, with Harney and Dare hoping to crack the roster of the U18 squad. The trio piqued the interest of Team B.C. coaches based on their testing results at a Team B.C. combine in February.
It's the first time Sounders players have been invited to the camp and if Messier makes the team, he would represent the province at the Red River Cup in Winnipeg this summer. Harney and Dare would travel to San Antonio to take part in the Football University (FBU) International Games next January.
