麻豆社国产cross-country skiers shared their passion for hitting the slopes during the TECK BC Cup earlier this month.
On the first day of the competition, which was Jan. 6, Magnus Sandell took fourth place in the Pee Wee Boys 1 division, a race that lasted 1.5 kilometres.
D鈥橝rcy Bloom also took fourth place in the Masters Men category, which spanned 10 kilometres.
The Sea to Sky also had a lot of representatives in the Atoms category, which had a 0.75-kilometre race.
Racers in this category were Elliot Chamberlain, Stig McLachlan, Kate Lowe, Camille Day, Maeve Lazar-Barry and Ula McLachlan.
There were a number of athletes from the Sea to Sky Nordics the second day of competition, Jan. 7.
Magnus Sandell took bronze in the Pee Wee boys 1 category this time around.
Bianca Ike also placed third, taking the podium in the Pee Wee Girls 2 division.
Frances Vince was a gold medallist, claiming victory in the Masters Women 40 category.
Michael Bain placed fourth in the Masters Men 50.
There were also a lot of young athletes taking part in the Atoms race.
Kye Sale, Sorfia Korpus, Emilia Aragon and Maelle Ferradini all wore their Sea to Sky colours proudly in the competition.
Oskar Sandell represented the corridor in the Bantam Boys 2 division on both days.
Some young skiers were eager to share their passion for the sport.
Eight-year-old Magnus Sandell said that he likes to ski and that he hopes to continue with the sport for a long a time. 鈥淚 might ski for my whole life,鈥 he said.
Magnus said that going downhill is one of his favourite parts of the sport 鈥 especially if he鈥檚 going fast.
Eleven-year-old Oskar Sandell said he enjoys downhill, but also the journey getting there as well.
鈥淚 like to just go up the hill because [I] cross-country ski,鈥 Oskar said.
He also added that he loves 鈥渇inding out how fast the snow is.鈥
Oskar said he plans to keep skiing until he鈥檚 a grown-up. The Sea to Sky Nordics will be hosting Teck Coast Cup #4 on Jan. 28 at Whistler.
