Tuning up with Flag football

The Howe Sound Hitmen are preparing for their fall tackle football by tuning up with flag football.Ìý

This past weekend, they opened against the North Vancouver Cowboys, jumping to any early lead when quarterback Reniel Belandres scored on a 55-yard play. From there, they added more points while shutting down their opponents to lead 34-0 at the half.Ìý

In the second half, Kolby Wilton came in to play quarterback and threw touchdown passes to Jack Harris and Marcus Hernandez, which helped bring the final score to 46-6.

In a second game, the junior team took on the Patriots. They were able to rack up one major on a fake pass that turned into a handoff, but they could not get any closer. Damien Joseph and Josh Cormack each had a couple of sacks to provide strong defence.

In other news, three players have made the first cut for Team BC’s tackle team this year: Ryle Mabilog, Jhett Verner and Matt Seamans.
