For the second straight year, young mountain bikers in the Sea to Sky Corridor will get a chance to ride with an Olympian when the Future Stars Camps comes to town in October.
Seamus McGrath, who represented Canada in 2004 and 2008, will be teaching the camp, which runs from Oct. 8 to 10 and is geared toward competitive riders aged 13 to 17.
The program will cover all aspects of competing at a high level, including race strategy, race style workouts, technical trail riding, core workouts, nutrition and endurance riding.
McGrath was also a 14-time Canadian National Cycling team member, two-time Commonwealth Games medalist and won the 2009 B.C. Bike Race.
This year's camp will be limited to 30 riders and include 10 hours of riding along with two hours of dryland training. Last year's schedule saw riders hit the trails near Quest University, have a question-and-answer session with McGrath and head to 麻豆社国产Crossfit for training tips.
The cost to participate in the camp is $140, which includes a T-shirt and a certificate.
