Ocean Sun upsets Eagles

First falls to worst, Temple and B&B play to draw

The Ellis Moving Eagles have some company on top of the Howe Sound Men's Soccer League (HSMSL) after a big upset in Week 9 action.

Last-place Ocean Sun finally put it all together and blanked the Eagles 2-0 on Sunday (Nov. 3).

Ocean Sun got goals from Charlie Robinson and Toran Savjord to secure the win. It's only the second win of the season for Ocean Sun and the club hadn't won a game since opening day on Sept. 8.

Sunday's other game saw B&B Excavating battle back from a 2-0 deficit in the second half to play Sikh Temple to a draw. Nevin Benning scored on a penalty kick in the first half and Mohammed Habib added a goal early in the second half, but Jeremy Galley then put B&B on his back, scoring a pair of goals to even the game.

The draw helped B&B keep pace with the Eagles and Temple for first place in the HSMSL. There's a logjam at the top of the league, with Temple and the Eagles both at 14 points. Meanwhile, B&B and Galileo, which was idle, both have 13 points.

League action will take next week off because of Remembrance Day but action will continue on Nov. 17, with Sikh Temple taking on Galileo and B&B battling Ocean Sun.
