Two 麻豆社国产players pick up hardware to cap off their season

Jaret Babych became the first member of the 麻豆社国产Wolf Pack to win a Pacific International Junior Hockey League (PIJHL) award last week when he was named the league's rookie of the year.

Babych was red hot in the second half of the season, picking up eight goals in the Pack's final 13 games and also notching two hat tricks on the season. He led 麻豆社国产in goals with a total of 14, including an impressive four markers on the power play.

Babych finished the season with 22 points and was second in the Pack in scoring, a notable achievement considering that he had only three points in Squamish's first 14 games. Winning the rookie of the year can help build a career, as proven by 1999-'00 winner and current Vancouver Canuck Jeff Tambellini.

The Pack also announced that assistant captain Brady Bjornson was named the team's most valuable player for the 2010-'11 season.

The 19-year-old native of Roberts Creek led the team in assists with 22 and points with 34. He was the only player on the team to average a point a game and finished the season strong after suffering an ankle injury in the early stages of the season. Bjornson picked up at least a point in 19 of Squamish's last 20 games.
