Pedal to the Metal had over 122 racers from Grade 3 to 6 this year, with almost 100 riders for each race. This is the 12th year of the series and 16th year of holding races.听
The race series was hatched from a discussion between race organizer and teacher Lisa Manzini and Test of Metal鈥檚 Cliff Miller about how they could interest kids in mountain biking. The Test of Metal has been sponsoring the mountain bike series, providing ribbons, medals, T-shirts, and this year Pedal to the Metal tape and signage for the course.听
The race series will continue long after the Test of Metal is finished, carrying on with the name Pedal to the Metal.
This year, Test of Metal winner and former Pedal participant Quinn Moberg shook hands with each of the winners as he handed them their medals.
