The momentum continues to grow for the bike race series in the shadow of the biggest bike weekend of the year for Squamish.
The Pedal to the Metal kids bike race series has gripped young bike riders in 麻豆社国产with four weekly races in the month leading up to the Test of Metal.
The series features local boys and girls from Grades 3 to 7 hitting the trails just off the Ray Peters Trail in Brackendale. It kicked off on May 21 and despite soggy conditions, 84 students hit the trails.
Winners were: Elly Hoskin (Grade 3 Girls), William Theed (Grade 3 Boys), Teigen Pascual (Grade 4 Girls), Larson Rickli (Grade 4 Boys), Micheala Hoskin (Grade 5 Girls), Josh Cormack (Grade 5 Boys), Maja Woolley (Grade 6 Girls), Cameron Fielding (Grade 6 Boys), Julia Long (Grade 7 Girls) and Jack Cormack (Grade 7 Boys).
Race 2 occurred on May 28 with 96 students participating. Winners were: Elly Hoskin (Grade 3 Girls), William Theed (Grade 3 Boys), Teigen Pascual (Grade 4 Girls), Micheal Weiland (Grade 4 Boys), Cammie Rushbrook (Grade 5 Girls), Jhett Verner (Grade 5 Boys), Maja Woolley (Grade 6 Girls), Micheal Lane (Grade 6 Boys), Julia Long (Grade 7 Girls) and Jack Cormack (Grade 7 Boys).
Race 3 went down on June 6 with 87 racers competing. Series organizer Lisa Manzini noted it was a good turnout, especially considering many members of the older grades were on field trips. Winners were: Elly Hoskin (Grade 3 Girls), William Theed (Grade 3 Boys), Teigen Pascual (Grade 4 Girls), Larson Rickli (Grade 4 Boys), Cammie Rushbrook (Grade 5 Girls), Josh Cormack (Grade 5 Boys), Maja Woolley (Grade 6 Girls), Cameron Fielding (Grade 6 Boys), Julia Long (Grade 7 Girls) and Jack Cormack (Grade 7 Boys).
The series wrapped up on Tuesday (June 11) with the top three riders from each grade receiving medals at the Test of Metal race on Saturday (June 15).
