Eleven members of the Â鶹Éç¹ú²úPirates are off to the provincials.
The local swim club concluded its regular swim season on a high note at the North Shore Winter Club at the Vancouver and District Regional Swim Meet on Aug. 2 and 3.
Pirates provincial qualifiers include Kai Bolla, Mees Haddeman, Gage Tindall, Brandon Cheal, Mikayla Lorimer, Eli Tindall, Autumn Cramb, KJ Kimura, Alex Jevons, Sarah Dale and Daniel Russell.
New swimmer Eli Tindall capped off his rookie year with the Pirates in a big way, qualifying for three individual events and as a member of a relay team. He finished first in the 100 metre backstroke and his time of 1:11.55 was in the top 10 in the entire province.Â
KJ Kimura was another top qualifier, with a first place finish in the 100 m breaststroke and a second place showing in the 50 m freestyle.
Pirates’ assistant coach Sarah Dale continued her consistently strong swimming career with a third place finish in the 100 m breaststroke. The qualification marks the ninth time that Dale has qualified for the provincials.
The Pirates next head to Kamloops for the 56th annual Provincial Championship Swim held from Aug. 15 to 17.Â
