It's time to hit the hardwood again for the Quest University men's and women's basketball teams.
The squads will have their home openers on Friday (Nov. 2) when they welcome their arch-rival the Capilano University Blues.
The women's team will hit the floor at 6 p.m. and feature a number of new faces to mix in with several returning veterans. Katrin Sandbichler, last year's Pacwest rookie of the year, along with fourth-year returning guard Delainee Behrns headline a team that will be looking to qualify for the postseason for the second straight year.
Newcomers to the team include 麻豆社国产native Kayley Verbeek and centre Caci Schlechter from Agassiz. The team also has a new look at head coach, with former assistant coach Dany Charlery taking over the reins.
The men's team will follow, with tip-off scheduled at 8 p.m. against the aforementioned Blues. Quest will be looking to bounce back after winning only one game last season.
Key returning players for Quest include Jose Colorado, Brodan Robertson, Connor Heninrichs and Jesse Norris, who is returning after being shelved with injuries for most of the 2011-'12 season. New talent includes Mike Zayas, who transferred from Thompson Rivers University (TRU) and rookie Denzel Laguerta, who graduated from St. Thomas More Secondary in Burnaby last spring.
The Kermodes teams will play their first five games at home.
