Quest teams fall to Capliano

Men's, women's teams lose at home to the Blues

Home court proved to be no advantage for the Quest men's and women's basketball teams on Thursday (Jan. 19).

The teams welcomed the Capilano University Blues to Squamish, with the women's team coming up short 74-65. The loss could prove to be crucial for Quest, as Capilano sits four points above them for third place in the Pacwest conference standings.

With the loss, the Kermodes dropped to five wins and four losses on the season and remain in fourth place.

The men's team responded with of their best effort of the season but also fell short to Capilano, losing 89-85. The offensive output was the Kermodes' best of the season but they couldn't stop the fourth-place Blues, who improved to six wins and three losses. Quest has zero wins and nine losses in Pacwest action.

The teams will take to the road this weekend, battling the Kwantlen Eagles on Friday (Jan. 27) and then challenging the Langara Falcons on Saturday (Jan. 28). The next home game for the Kermodes will be on Feb. 10.
