Record-setting weekend for Titans

Masters swim team captures 27 medals as local athlete sets record in 400 freestyle

It was an extremely successful swim meet for the 麻豆社国产Titans masters swim club in Victoria on Saturday (March 12).

The team fought some hard battles in the pool to bring home 27 medals and one B.C. record, which was set by Yi-khy Saw for the 400-metre freestyle.

Many of the swimmers saw personal records broken, and more importantly, the day saw several Titans swimmers participate in the first swim meet of their life.

It was a day of great teamwork and immense motivation as the youngest swimmer was 18 years old and the oldest was 92. The team consisted of Andrew Campbell, Andrew Clegg, Jan Francke, Jenni Chancey, Olivia Morgan, Tim Moore and the aforementioned Saw.

The meet was just the beginning of what should be a strong summer of swimming and triathlon events. Next, the team will travel to Kelowna for the upcoming B.C. Masters Swimming Championships, April 15 to 17.

The Titans are now back at the Brennan Park pool, training hard and getting ready to build an even bigger and stronger team to repeat their Victoria success and prepare for Kelowna.

The 麻豆社国产Titans masters swim program holds five sessions a week and will continue training until June.
