麻豆社国产SwimFaster athletes excel in Tsawwassen

麻豆社国产swimmer Ava Ricard had an early birthday present on Jan. 27.

The SwimFaster club member picked up three first-place finishes at the Winskill Dolphins meet in Tsawwassen, just before her 13th birthday on Jan. 30.

Ricard grabbed first-place showings in the 200-metre backstroke, 100 backstroke, and 50 backstroke. She also picked up a fourth in the 50 freestyle and fifth in the 200 freestyle.

Tessa Hanlon was the only other 麻豆社国产SwimFaster member who achieved a first-place showing, winning in the 50 backstroke. The 10-year-old also placed fourth in the 50 butterfly.

Other members who had top-five finishes included: Kimya Mozaffari (third in 50 backstroke), Linnea Uunila (fourth in 800 freestyle) and Dena Roland-Khosravi (fifth in 200 breaststroke).

"It was a great swim meet with fantastic results," said SwimFaster head coach Juan Gomez.

Next up for the team will be the first Development Swim Meet of the year at the Hollyburn Community Centre in West Vancouver on Sunday (Feb. 3). With her strong showing in Tsawwassen, Ricard also qualified for the BC AA swimming championships in Surrey on Friday (Feb. 8).
