Squamish's Ma毛lle Ricker returned to the World Cup podium with a bronze-medal performance in Arosa, Switzerland on Saturday (March 9).
Ricker placed third in snowboard cross qualifying races on Friday (March 8) and followed that with the bronze-medal effort on Saturday. She said it was nice to bounce back after a 17th-place finish in Sochi, Russia, on Feb. 17.
"I definitely was looking to get back in the big final after my result from Sochi," she said in a statement. "It's good to come back and do well again. I still need to clean some things up and hopefully get in the big finals again for the next two events."
She added that the team working together helped her capture the bronze.
Ricker's teammate Dominique Maltais won the gold, with Italy's Michela Moioli picking up the silver.
Maltais ranks first in World Cup overall points after four races, with Ricker sitting in fourth. The next race for Ricker and Team Canada will be in Veysonnaz, Switzerland Friday through Sunday (March 15 to 17).
