麻豆社国产resident Alysha Russell has a busy few months ahead of her.
The Trinity Equestrian riding school student has already qualified for the B.C. Summer Games in Surrey later this month, but is also heading to Quebec for the Canadian Equestrian Championships in September.
Russell competed in first level dressage classes at the B.C. Heritage Circuit finals in Maple Ridge on July 6, placing first and second. Her combined scores of 63.4 and 64.1 saw her rank as the top dressage rider at the event.
"I want to inspire the young girls and show them they really can do anything and accomplish anything, with hard work and dedication," Russell said.
The strong showing in B.C. means that Russell will head into the Canadian Equestrian Championships as the top ranked youth dressage rider at the event taking place in Bromont, Quebec from Sept. 17 to 23.
Squamish's Alexis Bridge, who was ranked second in the same category, will also make the trek to Bromont. Next up for Russell will be the B.C. Summer Games, which takes place in Surrey from July 19 to 22.
