The dream season for the Whistler Saints flag football team didn't end according to plan.
The Saints lost 20 -8 in the GSL championships game to the North Vancouver Raiders to end the 2013 season on a disappointing note.
Saints quarterback Liam Forsyth had the lone touchdown for the club, while Josh McKenzie grabbing a touchdown-saving interception to highlight the defence.
The Raiders were the only team to defeat the Saints this year, as the team's lone regular season loss also came to their North Vancouver rivals.
Despite the loss, it was still a strong season for the Saints. The team, made up of players from the Sea to Sky Corridor, posted the top record in the flag football division at eight wins and one loss and qualified for the title game. The Saints had a perfect five wins and zero losses record on home field at 麻豆社国产Elementary School.
The next big event for the GSL is the league's annual awards banquet in North Vancouver on Sunday (Dec. 1) from 5:30 to 9 p.m. For more details on the league, visit www.gslfootball.com.
