The Quest University Kermodes women's soccer team continues to roll, having posted two more wins on the road on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 28 and 29).
Quest was ranked seventh in the country in last week's CCAA rankings and will likely inch even closer to the top after the pair of victories.
The Kermodes kicked off the weekend against the Douglas College Royals on Saturday and Becky Schile's goal in the 27th minute was the lone goal in a 1-0 Quest win.
Success on the road continued on Sunday, with Quest blanking the Kwantlen Eagles 2-0. Fourth-year students Mari Tarleton and Gellie Raguin-Licas tallied for the Kermodes in the win.
The strong defensive play by the Kermodes continued, as the team has only allowed one goal in its past four games. The women's team improved to six wins and two losses on the season and rank second in the Pacwest.
It was a different story for the men's team, which dropped both games on the weekend.
Oliver Bennett briefly gave the Kermodes the lead against Douglas on Saturday but the Royals responded with three unanswered goals to win 3-1. Quest then lost a close 1-0 to Kwantlen on Sunday after the Eagles scored on a set piece in the first half.
The men's team remains winless and sits in last place in the Pacwest with a record of zero wins, six losses and two draws. However, Quest still has playoff hopes due to the tight nature of the men's division.
The teams return to Quest field on Saturday (Oct. 5) as they welcome the Langara Falcons to Squamish. Kickoff times are 1 p.m. for the women and 3 p.m. for the men.
