After kicking off the roller derby campaign with a pair of bouts on the road, the Sea to Sky Sirens are ready to settle into the friendly confines of the Brennan Park Arena to kick off their summer schedule later this month.
The Sirens recently announced three home dates, the first being a bout against the Kamloops-based Tournament City Deadlies. It all goes down on May 25, with the doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the bout getting underway at 7:30 p.m.
The bout, entitled "The Ocean Commotion," will be the first time the two teams have squared off and will feature a beer garden as well as music from DJ Shawn LaRock.
The Sirens return to Brennan Park on June 15 to take on Vancouver's Riot Girls and then will look for a little revenge when the Black Diamond Betties from Whistler come to 麻豆社国产for a rematch on July 13.
On April 15, the Betties upset the Sirens 157-149 in the Betties' home debut during the Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival. The two teams met twice in 麻豆社国产last year with the Sirens winning 241-56 on June 2 and posting a 186-158 win on July 21.
But "The Ocean Commotion" is up first. Tickets are $10 and are available at Agnes Jean Boutique, Naked Lunch and online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/371726. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event. All children aged eight and under get in for free.
