The tag team of Squamish's Cody TKO Smith and Harry Smith tore the roof off of Totem Hall during the All Star Wrestling (ASW) event on Saturday (April 27) and did it with a nod to a couple of Harry's famous uncles.
With Harry holding the Fabulous Fabio in a bearhug, Cody exploded off the ropes and nailed Fabio with a clothesline, mimicking the Hart Attack, which was the finishing manoeuvre of the Hart Foundation a celebrated tag team in the WWF that featured Harry's uncles Bret The Hitman Hart and Jim The Anvil Neidhart.
Harry also busted out the sharpshooter submission hold made famous by Bret, but it was Cody's TKO finisher that won the match for the team at 11:03 when he pinned Fabio's partner Nelson Creed.
The joy of tagging with a star like Harry was not lost on Cody.
That was Harry Smith out there tonight, a guy I've seen on TV and to work with someone like that is awe-inspiring, he said after the match. To be able to do that Hart Attack finishing move with him I bet Bret taught him that. It's just such an honour, wow. When we did that move it was such a moment of clarity and I realized just who I was in the ring and teaming with. He's such a great technician in the ring and he could be asleep and still know what to do in there.
Harry said he had a blast performing in front of the 麻豆社国产fans.
It was a lot of fun and it was really good to be here, he said. TKO looks like a pretty good prospect and I really enjoyed myself out there tonight. I think we had a good match and the fans out here were great.
Both competitors said they'd be open to teaming with each other again but the world of wrestling will send them on different paths in the coming weeks. Cody will head to Oregon and then to Vernon, while Harry will return to Japan to compete on a pay-per-view event for New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW).
In a hard-hitting match that many fans called the bout of the night, Bambi Hall pinned Raven Lake at 8:39 with a neck breaker to retain the CNWA ladies championship in a three-way dance that also featured KC Spinelli.
Other action saw The Panama Wasp defeat Bruiser Joe at 6:25 with a flying butt drop and the Great Kasaki defeat Adam Ryder two falls to one in 15:35 to retain the ASW cruiserweight title. The event's opening bout saw the team of Mantasia and Nasty Nate Daniels defeat Lonewolf Billy McCoy and Alex Prestige at 9:28 when Daniels pinned Prestige following a choke slam.
