There's less than a month left to be in the running to win SORCA's first photography competition.Â
The competition is open to everyone who uses the trails, whether or not they're SORCA members or mountain bikers. There are five categories for photos including trail culture, trail work, family, nature and slab — the elements that keep trail users coming back for more. Whether it's the spirit of the trail community, those volunteers pouring extra sweat into maintaining trails, families spending time together, the iconic Â鶹Éç¹ú²úslab features or the natural views along the way, the shots are welcome.
"We're aiming to unite trail lovers to celebrate the amazing network of trails we roam while raising funds for SORCA," Heidi Specht, the director of community engagement for SORCA, said in an email.
Once the shooting is done and the submissions are in, SORCA will host the photo challenge awards on Oct. 26 at Totem Hall. Also serving as the association's last event of the season, the awards will announce the winners, feature short video clips and a silent auction as it brings together the mountain biking and larger trail community.
Submission information can be found at www.sorca.ca/photochallenge.
