After a big win against Pemberton Secondary School on Jan. 8, the Howe Sound Sounders junior boys team couldn鈥檛 make it two in a row.
Howe Sound lost 53-28 to the Sentinel Secondary School Spartans in West Vancouver on Jan. 14 to remain winless in North Shore League (NSL) action in 2014-15.
Howe Sound head coach Max Roy said the game got away from the Sounders near the end of the first half.
鈥淭he game was close until there were four minutes left in the second quarter,鈥 he said. 鈥淭hey pressed us and we turned the ball over and started playing at their pace.鈥
Despite the loss, Roy said he liked the way his team played, especially on the defensive end.
鈥淚鈥檓 very pleased that we competed against them for the full game it was just that four minute stretch that lost us the game,鈥 he said.
Bryce Northey led the way for the Sounders with 14 points and Roy praised the defensive efforts of Lasse Pekdag against the Spartans. Next up for the Sounders is a home game against the West Vancouver Secondary School Highlanders on Jan. 22 at 3:30 p.m.聽
