Spring is just around the corner and for Howe Sound Secondary School (HSSS) athletes, that means the start of the rugby season.
It's the third year since the club has reformed and interest in the team is again high, with the Sounders practicing twice a week. Coach Robert Lepine said he's happy with how the team looks early into the 2014 season.
"I think we learned a lot today in regards to game flow and tackling," he posted on the team's Facebook page after practice on March 6. "Definitely excited about what we can do in the game."
Last year marked a milestone for the Sounders as they picked up the team's first-ever win on May 16 when they defeated New Westminster 42-0. They added another win later that year and they had a chance to pick up another "W" on Tuesday (March 11) when they took on Alpha Secondary in Burnaby.
Results were not available at press time but check next week's edition of The Chief for more details. For more information on the team, visit Howe Sound Rugby on Facebook.
