Paddling club offering several programs for spring season

Spring is slowly creeping up and the 麻豆社国产Paddling Club (SPC) is offering the chance for paddlers of all abilities to hone their skills for the coming season.

The club is offering three different Learn to Kayak introductory sessions for those new to the sport. The sessions are ideal for new paddlers of all ages to learn basic kayaking skills with three hours of certified instruction and all equipment provided.

The sessions, which cost $50 for adults and $25 for those under 19, consist of two lessons and take place at the Brennan Park pool. The courses run on back-to-back Saturdays with the first sessions running on Feb. 4 and 11. Another set is offered on Feb. 25 and March 3, with a special youth aged 13 to 19 session taking place on March 17 and 24. Each lesson runs from 8 to 9:30 p.m.

For those who have some experience, the Learn to Roll your Kayak course aims to teach participants how to properly roll their kayak or improve their existing roll technique. The course costs $25 for adults and $15 for those under 19 and includes 1.5 hours of instruction and all equipment. Paddlers may also used their own boat for this class, which takes place at Brennan Park pool and starts at 8 p.m. The course takes place on Feb. 18, March 10 and 31.

In addition to the courses, the SPC is offering drop-in sessions at Brennan Park pool every Saturday starting on Feb. 4 and lasting until May and starting at 8 p.m. Drop-in fee is $5 with your own gear or for kids under 19 and $10 if using club gear.
