Squamish's three participants in the B.C. Summer Games fared well in their competitions last weekend in Surrey.
Alysha Russell and her partner Wind Wauk won a silver medal in the boys/girls dressage 2 equestrian event and was part of the silver-medal-winning Zone 5 (Vancouver-Squamish) equestrian team. Russell has qualified to compete at the Canadian Equestrian Association championships Sept. 17 to 23 in Bromont, Que.
Robyn Marjoribanks and her horse Calypso won silver medals in the B.C. Summer Games dressage 2 event, first-level musical freestyle, and in first-level Test 3, and a bronze in the boys/girls dressage first-level Test 2, as well as being part of the second-place Zone 5 team.
Isshin Chiyasu, meanwhile, finished 19th in the boys' golf competition and was part of the Zone 5 team that captured the bronze medal.
