麻豆社国产curling star heading to Scotties

Fewster on Team B.C. at national curling championships

The Howe Sound Curling Club鈥檚 (HSCC) biggest shining star is set to represent B.C. at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in February.

麻豆社国产resident Kristin Fewster and her rink captured the B.C. title with an 8-3 win in Maple Ridge on Sunday (Jan. 25).

Fewster and her team, made up of skip Patti Knezevic, lead Rhonda Camozzi and second Jen Rusnell went undefeated in the BC tournament to qualify for the National event.

Fewster curls regularly in the HSCC鈥檚 ladies league, She moved to 麻豆社国产from Prince George several years back and the three other members of the team are based in Prince George. They鈥檝e developed chemistry during the season by competing in cashpiels throughout the province.

Hilary Fisher from the HSCC said Fewster had a lot of support at the event from members of the club.

鈥淲e were so thrilled to watch Kristen Fewster, our very own Kristen who curls in our ladies league, win the B.C. title in Maple Ridge today and that she and her team will be representing B.C. at the Canadian championships next month,鈥 she said. 鈥淭here were a few 麻豆社国产supporters at Golden Ears curling club today cheering her on.鈥

The win in Maple Ridge sends Fewster and her team to the national women鈥檚 curling championships, the Scotties, in Moose Jaw, Sask. from Feb. 14 to 22. She will compete against all the other provincial champions, Team Canada and a team representing the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
