麻豆社国产FC improved to three wins and no losses after defeating the GN Sporting Club 1-0 in Vancouver Metro Soccer League Division 2A action on Saturday (Sept. 25) in North Delta.
麻豆社国产started off strong, controlling large portions of the play in the first half and creating a number of scoring opportunities.
Squamish's Devin Jodreycame very close to scoring, booting a blinding shot only to see it stopped by the bar. Jodrey had another crack minutes later but was denied by the keeper. Later on in the first half, GN Sporting began to build more momentum but foundit difficult to penetrate the 麻豆社国产defence.
The first half ended with the two teams deadlocked in a scoreless draw.
The 2nd half started similar to the first, with Jodrey working hard to create another good chance. He fireda left footed free kick from 25 yards out, only to be denied by the keeper but Russell Adams was there to pounce on the rebound and poked it in to put 麻豆社国产up 1-0.
麻豆社国产continued with the pressure led by Richie Collins who came close to putting the team up by two with a long-range effort that was turned aside. GN Sporting piled on the pressure late but Steve Romanin was in top form on the back line, making several key defensive stops.
麻豆社国产keeper Jeremy Galley saved the three points with a great save after a large bounce was heading goal bound and the game concluded with Jodrey's goal being enough for a victory.
