Squamish鈥檚 Jarid Lukosevicius is one step closer to competing at the 2014 World Junior A Challenge in December.

The 麻豆社国产Minor Hockey Association (SMHA) product was named to the Team Canada West selection camp roster and will find out after a short training camp if he鈥檚 on the team.

As of today, Lukosevicius is fourth in the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL) in scoring with 34 points in 24 games with the Powell River Kings. The Kings sit third in the Island Division with 29 points.

He will travel to Calgary to compete in practices and intra-squad games from Dec. 7 to 9 before the final selections are made. The World Junior A Challenge runs from Dec. 14 to 20 in Kindersley, Sask., and Team Canada West has preliminary round games scheduled against Denmark and Russia before a playoff round determines the tournament champion.
