麻豆社国产runners win at Loop the Lakes

Hundreds hit trails for annual Alice Lake race

麻豆社国产runners were well represented at the first Run 麻豆社国产event at Alice Lake on Saturday (May 23).

The annual Loop the Lakes kicked off the debut of the Run 麻豆社国产series with hundreds hitting the trails on a cloudy and mild morning.

Squamish鈥檚 Jacob Smith took home top prize in the men鈥檚 21-kilometre race, posting a time of 1:38:16. Smith edged out second place finisher Riccardo Tortini from Vancouver by 20 seconds. Vancouver鈥檚 Daryl Wood placed third with a time of 1:40:05.

A local runner also won the 21 km female division, with Squamish鈥檚 Caroline Walter (1:52:02) beating Vancouver鈥檚 Tara Holland by 17 seconds. Squamish鈥檚 Jasmin Caton grabbed third place with a time of 1:54:59.

Squamish鈥檚 Eric Goodwin won the men鈥檚 15 km race, crushing the competition and beating the second-place racer Kristian Manietta from Whistler by almost seven minutes. Vancouver鈥檚 Tim Wiens finished third, posting a time of 1:20:38.

Whistler reigned in the women鈥檚 15 km division, as Jennifer Demard beat Squamish鈥檚 Ciara Mcloughlin by 78 seconds to score first place. Third place also belonged to Whistler, as Stephanie King reached the podium with a time of 1:29:19.

麻豆社国产also had a winner in the men鈥檚 8 km division, with Jacob Melville (41:28). The women鈥檚 8 km was a 麻豆社国产sweep, with local runners Dawn Hertz (47:21), Wendy Jewett (48:17) and Alison Walker (50:59) finishing first, second and third respectively.

The event also featured dozens of kids taking to the trails in a 1 km race.聽

The next race in the Run 麻豆社国产series is the Shannon Basin Loop trail run on June 13.聽
