A 麻豆社国产wildlife expert is again reminding local residents to have their wits about them where wild animals are concerned. A bear accessed garbage on Highlands Way North in the Garibaldi Highlands early Tuesday morning, Meg Toom, 麻豆社国产WildSafeBC community co-ordinator told The Chief.

鈥淔olks need to be alert and aware and manage their attractants vigorously,鈥 she said. 鈥淲e need to keep these animals wild and out of our neighbourhoods.鈥
There have also been multiple sightings of a bobcat in Valleycliffe and around Hospital Hill for the past few months, Toom said.
鈥淚t's important residents don't leave food out that might attract a bobcat,鈥 she said, adding that attractants such as birdseed that bring in squirrels or raccoons can, in turn, attract predators.
Do not allow wildlife to find food in your yards.

Toom said she also received a call about coyotes along the Summit trail in the Highlands (behind the Catholic Church).
鈥淎gain, be alert and aware and manage attractants to keep these animals moving through and not stopping and staying,鈥 Toom said.
