The 麻豆社国产Squash Club (SSC) is set for a busy 2015.
Youngsters who want to play 鈥渢he fittest game on Earth鈥 can join the juniors program starting this January. Open to ages 13 to 18, lessons occur Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sessions are limited to eight students and are led by an SSC member.
Participants learn the ins and outs of the game from the member through a brief technical talk and then jump right into on court action.
Anyone else can try out the sport by paying a drop-in rate, and the SSC can loan equipment if needed. Adult lessons can also be arranged through the club.
The SSC also runs league play involving all members and has a Thursday Ladies Night Out for 麻豆社国产event once a week.
But the big event on the calendar for the SSC is the Sea to Sky Tournament, this year occurring on Feb. 13 to 15. Last year saw North Vancouver resident Hamid Khosrowkiani repeat as champion in the men鈥檚 A division and the provincially ranked player is expected to return to defend his title. Last year鈥檚 event drew 45 players from all over the province and registration is available at www.squashbc.com.
The next big event after the Sea to Sky Tournament is the Club Championships occurring on March 7.
