SwimFaster athletes excel in Richmond

Four local swimmers qualify for AA championships

The LMR Championships proved to be a nice coming-out party for several 麻豆社国产SwimFaster athletes.

The event, held in Richmond on Feb. 15 and 16, saw more than 500 swimmers from 19 swimming clubs across the Lower Mainland hit the water.

Squamish's Linnea Uunila excelled with a first place in the 50-metre freestyle and second-place finishes in the 100 and 200 freestyles. She achieved AA swim times with her results.

Mina Davati also had a good showing, finishing first in the 50 breaststroke and second in the 50 backstroke. She also achieved AA times in the 50 reestyle and the 100 backstroke.

Diane McIlwraith placed second in the 100 backstroke and third in the 50 fly, 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. McIllwraith qualified for AA in both the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke.

Also achieving AA time was Elizabeth McIllwraith, who qualified in the 50 freestyle. All of the swimmers with AA times are eligible to participate in the AA championships on March 1 and 2 in Chilliwack.

Other locals who had top-five finishes in Richmond were: Brayden Whittaker (third in 50 backstroke and fourth in 50 breaststroke) and Sara Ndlovu-Fraser (first in 50 backstroke).
