SwimFaster athletes finished April on a high note, with several team members posting strong times at the Pacific Coast Wavemaker International meet in Victoria on April 28.
A total of 10 local swimmers competed and a trio of young swimmers advanced to the finals at the meet.
Samantha Zastre qualified for the finals in seven different races: fourth in the 200 metres breaststroke, sixth in 200-metre freestyle, seventh in 50 breaststroke and 100 freestyle and eighth in 100 backstroke.
Ava Richard was the top-ranked team member, with a third-place finish in the 50 backstroke. Richard was also four-tenths of a second shy of qualifying for the AAA standard in the 100 backstroke race.
Elizabeth McIllwraith also reached the finals, finishing eighth in the 50 breaststroke.
Other team members competing at the event included: Tessa Hanlon, Dena Rohani, Diane McIllwraith, Ella Rohani, Tomila Sahbaei, Mina Davati and Kimya Mozaffari.
But it wasn't just the water where SwimFaster athletes excelled, as a trio of young 麻豆社国产triathletes proved in Port Coquitlam on April 28.
Linnea Uunila, Elly Hoskin and Michaela Hoskin finished 1-2-3 in the female eight- to 10-year-old division at the Creek Classic Triathlon. The trio swam 100 m, biked four kilometres and ran one kilometre at the event.
All three girls plan to take part in the 麻豆社国产Youth Triathlon on Sunday (May 12).
