The medals were flowing in for Flow Training Centre, which opened last year in Valleycliffe.
Emma Wilson and instructor Serena Ly both competed this past weekend at the BC Taekwondo Championships in Burnaby.
Ten-year-old Wilson won a silver in poomsae and a gold in sparring. In the first match, she controlled the fight, leaving the score 7-2. Her final match, however, was a nail-biter as she faced a much larger opponent. The match concluded with a sudden death overtime round, which Wilson took home with a rear-leg roundhouse kick.
Ly competed in the red belt division, one division away from black, and remains undefeated in sparring. In the first match, she scored 16-7 and in the final match 9-6.
鈥淏oth athletes did very well and we are very proud of the hard work and dedication they have displayed in the months preparing for the competition season,鈥 said Flow Training coach and owner Carl Fortin.聽
