Squamish鈥檚 Harry Head makes his way through the course at NW Cup #1 in Port Angeles on Sunday (April 26).

Team 麻豆社国产proved their bite is just as bad as their bark at the annual JunkYard Dog cross-country race in Surrey on April 18.

Squamish鈥檚 youth mountain biking team swept the U17 Boys division at the event, with Hunter Verner edging out Holden Jones by one second to earn the top spot. Squamish鈥檚 Nick Kleban clocked in 23 seconds later to place third in the division.

Verner wasn鈥檛 the only Team 麻豆社国产member to win his division, as Sean Fincham dominated the Junior Men division, beating out the second place rider by almost three minutes to win. The only other local athlete to win a division was Squamish鈥檚 Greg Day, who beat out North Vancouver鈥檚 Kevin Calhoun by one second to take first place in the Elite Men category.

Team 麻豆社国产also had good showings from Chloe Moberg (second, U17 Girls) and Michaela Hoskin (second, U15 Girls). Team Squamish鈥檚 Jhett Verner finished just off the podium in the U15 Boys category after he placed fourth.

麻豆社国产was also represented in Port Angeles, WA. at the first Northwest Cup downhill event of the season on Sunday (April 26).

More than 600 racers competed, and Squamish鈥檚 Harry Head battled 58 other racers in the Category 1 (18 and under) male division to finish 26th. He said he was happy with his showing in an event with strong competition.

鈥淚 was pleased to have finished in the top half, a mere 13 seconds from first place,鈥 he told The 麻豆社国产. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a positive spin in the right direction, having shaved two seconds off my seeding run on Saturday (April 25) and moves my overall placement toward the front of the field from the first two races this season.鈥

Also competing at the race was Squamish鈥檚 Jessie Mcauley, who placed 33rd in the Category 1 male division.
