The Terry Fox Run is turning 32 and 麻豆社国产residents can hit the trails in honour of the Canadian icon on Sunday (Sept. 15).
The 麻豆社国产celebration of the Canadian legend is again being organized by the 麻豆社国产Firefighters Association, with all proceeds from the event going towards cancer research in Canada.
There is no entry fee for the event and no minimum donation. Participants are asked to meet at the southeast parking lot of Brennan Park at 9 a.m. A warm-up will be hosted before participants are invited to hit the trails.
As in years past, the route sees all involved start at Brennan Park and make their way to the 麻豆社国产Adventure Centre along the trail parallel to Loggers Lane and back. Doing that route twice is approximately 10 kilometres, but participants can also choose to travel one, two or five kms.
Wheelchairs, strollers and dogs on leashes are all welcome. Event organizers announced that there will be complimentary nutritional goodie bags from Save-on Foods for all participants at the finish line.
Last year, the event drew 100 people and each year sees anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000 raised. For more information on the event, visit www.terryfox.org/Run/.
