It wasn't the record-breaking 23 minutes that race organizers saw in 2011, but the Test of Metal did manage to sell out in less than a day to ring in the New Year on Jan. 1.
We're pumped with yet another sold-out race, said Test of Metal race director Cliff Miller.
Registration opened on Jan. 1 at 6 p.m. and all the available entries sold out before the clock struck midnight. Miller said those who missed out can still gain access to the big race in June with the 4-Pack.
As a salute to the great season that the Test of Metal's series of races offers, we are happy to announce that there are still some 4-Pack entries available, he added.
In addition to the Test of Metal, the 4-Pack gives racers entry into the Orecrusher, the Gearjammer and Just Another Bike Race (JABR).
There are a limited number of 4-Pack entries available so organizers encourage those interested to act fast.
The $215 (plus GST) price represents a 20 percent discount from the regular price of the four races if entries were purchased individually.
These four races provide some of the best singletrack anywhere, and give you a chance to experience Squamish's amazing trail network in a race setting with the incredible support of our volunteers and community, Miller said.
As well, the 3-Pack is now open for registration. It consists of all races except the Test of Metal. Registration for each of these three races individually is also now open.
