Registration for the 21st annual Test of Metal bike race begins at 6 p.m. on Jan. 1.
Registration for the 麻豆社国产event has a history of moving at a brisk pace. Race organizers describe it as an 鈥渁nnual tradition for mountain bike enthusiasts recovering from their New Year鈥檚 Eve revelries.鈥
To register for Test of Metal, competitors can sign up at . If anyone has a free entry to one of the races, they should contact the general registrar after registration starts but before they enter.
For the four-pack of Test of Metal races, registration has already opened. These include the Orecrusher, the Gearjammer and the Just Another Bike Race events, in addition to the signature Test of Metal race. The numbers for these limited but the packs do provide a discount from what the cost would be for competitors if they enter all four events individually.
Orecrusher will take place on April 16, three weeks earlier than usual. Gearjammer will follow on May 7. Test of Metal, itself, happens on June 18. Finally, Just Another Bike Race is set for Sept. 17.
Last June, Olympian Catherine Pendrel won her sixth Test of Metal women鈥檚 title, while Peachland鈥檚 Evan Guthrie finished first overall among the men to win his first title. More than 800 riders took part in the race.
The 67-kilometre Test of Metal course includes 1,200 metres of climbing and 35 kilometres of single track.
