Thrower named to Top Prospects Game

麻豆社国产native joining best young junior players in Canada

Dalton Thrower is going to Kelowna after all.

The 麻豆社国产native was added to the roster of Team Orr on Monday (Jan. 30) to join the best young draft-eligible players in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) for the annual Top Prospects Game on Wednesday (Feb. 1).

He also participated in the event's skills competition on Tuesday (Jan. 24), testing out his slap shot in the event's hardest-shot contest.

Thrower, an 18-year-old defenceman on the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League (WHL), is playing in his third WHL season and ranks fifth in scoring among WHL defencemen. He was ranked 30th among all North American skaters by NHL central scouting in its mid-term rankings and is projected by TSN to be a picked in the mid-second round of the 2012 NHL entry draft this June.

It's been a good January for the Thrower family, as Dalton's younger brother Josh Thrower made his WHL debut on Jan. 4 when the Calgary Hitmen called him up to take on 麻豆社国产native Brodyn Nielsen and the Vancouver Giants.
