The second race of the Canada Cup series is in the books and a trio of Team 麻豆社国产riders battled their way to top 10 finishes.
Rhys Verner, Sean Fincham and Luke Di Marzo traveled to Horseshoe Valley, Ont. to compete in the junior men division on Sunday, June 7.
All three riders managed to reach the podium and it was Verner with the top showing, 聽placing third behind Ontario riders Quinton Disera and Liam Mulcahy. Verner was two minutes and 25 seconds off the pace set by Disera.
Exactly 25 seconds behind Verner was Fincham, who placed fourth overall. Di Marzo snagged fifth place, finishing about 57 seconds behind Verner and 32 seconds behind Fincham.
Riders pedaled nearly 33 kilometres on the course, completing six laps.
The next Canada Cup race occurs in Oro Station, Ont. on June 14.
In other Team 麻豆社国产news, Parker Mell took home first place in the U17 boys division at the Seymour Skinner race in North Vancouver on Sunday, June 7. Mell beat out the second-place rider by more than three minutes to capture the division title.
Locally, the next big race for the trio of Team 麻豆社国产riders is the Test of Metal on June 20. All four riders are expected to compete at the 2015 edition of the race and are looking to build off strong performances in 2014.
Verner finished 10th overall and first in the 14 to 19 male division, Fincham was 31st overall and third in the 14 to 19 male division and Di Marzo finished 33rd overall and fourth in the 14 to 19 male division.
