The man in charge of the Whitecaps鈥 youth development soccer camps across the country made a stop in 麻豆社国产this week to check in on how young players in town were progressing.

Overall, as Brett Adams patrolled the soccer field, surveying under-18 players, his impression seemed favourable.

鈥淟ots of happy faces playing the game, and playing the game the right way,鈥 said Brett Adams. 鈥淲e want the players to work hard.鈥

He said that coming out from Vancouver to visit the kids is important, as it shows players that the main headquarters cares about what鈥檚 going on in the Sea to Sky area.

When kids see that, it could help serve as motivation for them to put a bit of extra effort in, he said.

Adams said that membership with the Whitecaps youth development camps comes with some responsibility.

鈥淲hen they put that jersey on they need to know they鈥檙e wearing a professional soccer club badge,鈥 he said.

Adams began running Whitecaps youth development camps in 2013.

Previously a coach with the English club, Notts County FC, he was in charge of the youth development program there, which produced six professional players.

Adams has a UEFA A coaching licence, which means he has a stamp of approval from the Union of European Football Associations, a governing body of European soccer.
