Maja Woolley led the way with a pair of first-place finishes and a second Squamish-based alpine ski racers shone brightly at the Nancy Greene Ski Racing Festival on March 22 and 23 at Sun Peaks Resort, an event that attracted racers from around the province.
Woolley, racing for Whistler Mountain Ski Club, finished in a tie for first among female racers born in 2001 in the Kombi event and second in the Speed event on Friday (March 22). Gemma Bexton placed 12th in Kombi and 17th in Speed, while Freya Jumonville placed sixth among racers born in 2002 in the Kombi event. Nathan Romanin finished eighth among in boys born in 2001 in the Kombi event.
On Saturday (March 23), Woolley finished first in the Glalom in a two-run combined time of 1 minute, 25.13 seconds, while Bexton placed fifth in 1:26.60. Jumonville finished sixth among racers born in 2002 with a two-run time of 1:28.82. Romanin placed seventh among the 2001-born boys in 1:22.28.
