Â鶹Éç¹ú²úhosts athletes from around the globe during Â鶹Éç¹ú²úDays Loggers Sports Festival

Some people may gawk at the idea of playing with chainsaws, axes and logging chokers, but in Squamish, locals have turned it into a world-class sport.

The annual Â鶹Éç¹ú²úDays Loggers Sports Festival brought athletes from around the world to try their hands at various events inspired by the town’s roots in the forestry industry.

Organizers gave special mention to the following athletes:

Novice Logger of The Day - John Parcell - Missoula, Montana

Intermediate Logger of The Day - Scott Thompson - Surrey, BC

Sportsman of The Day - Peter Lucas - Ketchikan, Alaska

Open Logger of The Day - Brian Bartow - Lake Oswego, Oregon

Lady Logger of The Weekend - Danielle Tkach - Sexsmith, Alberta

Sportsman of The Day - Eric Hoberg - Clinton, Montana
