The Â鶹Éç¹ú²ú polled 188 readers and asked the question: Would you like to see more media, like The Â鶹Éç¹ú²ú, close social media commenting?

Half of readers who responded— 49.47% — said to keep the comments coming.

Recently, other media outlets such as the and The Chief's sister paper the closed comments either permanently, as in the CBC's case, or temporarily on their Facebook posts due to online abuse, misinformation and trolling.

The Chief's poll ran from 11/2/2021 to 11/9/2021. Of the 188 votes, we can determine that 93 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:
