Letter writer Chad Fox wants action on the road to the All Weather Field.

This is something that has been an ongoing challenge to anyone who utilizes the turf field next to Brennan Park.

The gravel road to the BMX Track and All Weather Field becomes extremely pitted every rainfall and one thing 麻豆社国产experiences is rain.

As a parent with kids that use this location five times a week during soccer season - it can become quite the trek down the road whenever it rains.

I can’t say for sure we have sustained damage to our vehicle from this road exclusively but it wouldn’t be a surprise.

From speaking with others who use this field—I feel I can confidently say our family is not alone in this experience.

I can’t imagine the visiting teams that arrive on game days/nights and try to navigate down this road have positive feedback from the experience either.

Hopefully paving this road (and parking) is part of the council’s plans as they continue upgrading the community amenities.

Editor’s note: The 麻豆社国产 asked the District about this. The DOS said that staff monitor and maintain the road through grading, which is done regularly when weather permits.

“Overall, this road is very challenging to keep in good condition due to its gravel construction and poor drainage; however, speed adjustments by drivers will help to improve road and safety conditions for everyone,” a spokesperson for the District said, adding that planning work is underway for a new access road to the parking lot south of the BMX Track as part of the Brennan Park Fields and Lands Master Plan.

Budget for this work was included the recently adopted 2024-2028 Five-Year Financial Plan and work is scheduled for 2024.
