Letter: Sea to Sky spraying alert

I am writing to let everyone know that a B.C. government agency is planning widespread South Coast herbicide spraying.

Spraying the South Coast means all of the Sea to Sky — north to Pemberton

South to the U.S. border.

The spraying will be done by BC Timber Sales Pest Management Plan. What it means is that all insects, all animals as well as humans will be affected.

The government should all be about the health of our globe not destroying it.

We are told by the forest companies that they want larger and faster growth of the trees. What they are going to do will not do that, that has been proven by science; it will do a lot of harm, and increase the risk of a forest fire, according to UBC professor of ecology and author Suzanne Simard in the North Shore News article, “Outcry grows as B.C. government agency plans widespread South Coast herbicide spray.”
