It is a secret to no one who watches politics that 2024 hasn't been an easy year for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his reigning Liberal Party.
Just this week, the Conservative Party of Canada said they will move to bring down the government as early as late January, by moving a non-confidence motion in a House committee when it reconvenes on Jan. 7.
The leader of the New Democratic Party (NDP), Jagmeet Singh, he will introduce a motion to bring down Trudeau's government in the new year.
This would pave the way for an earlier election than the natural deadline for the government to fold; an election was set to take place on or before Oct. 20, 2025.
But is a spring or summer election what most local voters want?
The 麻豆社国产 polled 239 of its readers and asked the question: Do you want there to be an early federal election?
More than half said they do.
The poll ran from 12/19/2024 to 12/28/2024. Of the 239 votes, we can determine that 93 are from within the community. It should be noted that poll respondents don't have to state where they live. Only those who chose to disclose location are counted in the local tally.
