NEW YORK 鈥� Mick Jagger and Dave Grohl have teamed up for a hard-rock pandemic anthem called 鈥淓azy Sleazy.鈥�
鈥淚t鈥檚 a song that I wrote about coming out of lockdown, with some much needed optimism," Jagger said in a statement Tuesday. 鈥淭hanks to Dave Grohl for jumping on drums, bass and guitar. It was a lot of fun working with him.鈥�
The duo recorded the song and video in different studio locations 鈥� Jagger at home and Grohl in the Foo Fighters studio 鈥� and the lyrics mention 鈥減rison walls,鈥� 鈥渧irtual premieres,鈥� numbers that are 鈥済rim鈥� and Zoom calls. Jagger complains: 鈥淚've got nothing left to wear.鈥�
The song also name-checks Bill Gates, lampoons conspiracy theories and those who deny climate change and gleefully reveals 鈥淭here's aliens in the deep state.鈥�
But there seems to be hope. Jagger looks ahead and sees a 鈥済arden of earthly delights鈥� when vaccines are administered and lockdown ends.
