Â鶹Éç¹ú²úhas been experiencing a bitter cold snap in the last few days, but it should warm some in the coming days.

Most recently, he was known as the Â鶹Éç¹ú²úSanta and a stalwart volunteer at The Hotspot in Squamish. 

He worked as a pharmacist and business owner in Kamloops, Lillooet, and Squamish, where he operated Stathers Drugs, Stathers Home and Building Centre, and Lillooet IDA Pharmacy until his retirement at age 79.

On Jan. 7, over 60 volunteers counted 996 eagles in Squamish, Brackendale, Paradise and Â鶹Éç¹ú²úValley.

Each year, on the first Sunday after New Year’s Day, volunteers conduct the count, covering approximately 20 areas from the Elaho to downtown Squamish, and from Paradise Valley to the Stawamus River.
